Today we had to write five questions about lockdown and the delta variant, we would ask Jacinda Ardern or Dr. Ashley Bloomfield if we had the chance. I found this very boring because I couldn't think of many questions.
1. Why didn't we keep our borders closed? We would have never got the delta variant then.
2. Why is the delta variant so contagious?
3. How exactly does the vaccination work?
4. How long until NZ is fully vaccinated?
5. When will lockdown end?

ReplyDeleteExcellent questions. I think the vaccination rates have really jumped up lately. 70% of over 40s, however that is a whole lot of people not vaccinated still.

DeleteI'm glad you liked my questions! I think that the amount of people getting the vaccination will rise as now anyone over 12 can be vaccinated. I know that as soon as we get out of lockdown, Mum, Dad, and I are going to be vaccinated.

I think I can answer one question, even though I'm not Ashley or Jacinda! I'm pretty sure that the Pfizer vaccine, the one we use has a spike protein that's part of the genetic code of COVID-19. Your body recreates the genetic code then learns to recognise and get rid of the virus.
