SLJ - Summer Hiaku

I've written haiku poems before, but never a summer-themed one. I tried to base it around New Zealand summer but ended up doing summer in general. I don't like it.

Summer, oh what fun

The sun is shining brightly

And we're having fun

My name is Renee and I am from the Summer Learning Journey Team. Ka pai for your work on this awesome haiku. I know it can be tricky to match the number of syllables in each line with the words you want to include in your poem, so well done. Do you enjoy writing haiku poems?

I can tell from your poem that you are having a great time this summer, that’s so fantastic! I love summer as well. What are some of your favourite summer activities? Mine are swimming at the beach, eating ice-cream (cookies and cream is my absolute favourite) and playing games outside like touch rugby and volleyball with my friends and family.

Ngā mihi nui and keep up the excellent mahi - I can’t wait to see your other blog posts over the summer.

    1. Hello Renee
I enjoy writing poems but not haiku poems.
My favourite summer activitues are swimming in the river or at the beach, playing with my family, and just being outside!
