Week 2: Day 3: First You ‘Sea’ Me, Now You Don’t…

Activity 1: Night Owls
I am an early riser. My Mum also is an early riser. My dad and my sister are night owls.

Activity 2: A Local Delicacy

Activity 3: The Midnight Zone
It would take 20 adults to carry it to the new room. This is how I worked it out.

25 + 25 = 50 x 10= 500

  1. Hello Lucy,
I am Gargee from Hay Park School. Your post is so interesting to read because I thought most children nowadays are night owls because of their gadgets.

I would love to know more about ice cream, because those sound like some strange ingredients to combine.

Well done for completing the question on how to carry the animal from 1 room to another. It looks like you made it easy!

I personally on my blog wrote that I was unsure if I was a night owl or early riser. I think you should check out my blog because you may have fun like I did on yours.

Next time you should add a little more information about the ingredients for ice cream, because people like me might get confused.

    Happy Blogging

  2. Hi Lucy!

Awesome to see you have posted another day of activities!:)

    Activity One:
I am mostly an early riser too!
Sometimes I even struggle to stay awake until midnight on New Years!
How did you do with that? Did you make it to midnight?
    Any fireworks?
I am a little bit of a firebug so I really like fireworks and sparklers! :)

I used to wake up early on the weekends all of the time when I was little but my Mum had a rule: No TV until 8:30am! So (because I was a bit of a square eyes) I would wait in front of the TV for 8:30am on the dot so I could watch cartoons. :)
Do you watch TV in the morning? Any favourite TV programs?

    Activity Two:
    YUM! Ice-cream!! Just delicious!
Have you made it at home before using salt and ice?
I did this once in school as a chemical reaction activity - was really cool to see how it went from a liquid to solid when you shook the ingredients in a bag!

Do you have a favourite flavour or toppings you like to add?
When I was younger I really like goody-goody gum drops - My siblings and I would have competitions to see who got the most lollies in their ice-cream. :)

These days I am a bit fond of making home-made banana ice-cream. It's so easy you just blend frozen bananas and a little bit of liquid, then you can add whatever flavour combination you like!
Have you made ice-cream like this before?

    Activity Three:
Great work with this activity Lucy - You have clearly explained how you have solved the problem which is awesome!
Have you thought of a solution that involves children and adults lifting the squid?
If you have an idea for this make sure you add it to your post!

I've seen the colossal squid in Te Papa and it is pretty huge - I would not be surprised if it took this many people to move it! Have you seen it before? ...it's pretty cool!
Do you think you would have liked to be on the team moving the squid?... might have been a messy job!

I was just told about a strong man yesterday called Eddie Hall - He won the World's Strongest Man 2017 and he can lift 500kg's all by himself... maybe Te Papa should have hired him to move the squid!!

Awesome work Lucy, you are smashing these activities!

    Nga mihi,
    Ellee :)
